Maggot debridement therapy for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers: a meta-analysis

People with diabetes have a 12-25% lifetime risk of developing a foot ulcer­ation, while about 6% of people with diabetes have had foot ulceration in the UK. Diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) have been associated with higher mortality and reduced quality of life.
